Finally, a "Real" baby!!

We've kinda made fun of Luke since he started crawling back in December. He started a bit earlier than the girls, but only used the "Army Crawl" which is quite the sight to behold! He got rather fast, especially if we left a door open, or there was something he wasn't supposed to be getting into, but it looked so absolutely laborious and kinda painful on his sweet, little elbows. He actually looked rather like a fish or a snake, slithering across the floor...it was pretty cute. However, on Tuesday night, he just got up onto his knees and started crawling like a "real" baby!!! WOOOHOOO!! He still does his army crawl quite a bit, but it's nice to know that he can crawl "normal", and hopefully this will continue so that from now until he starts walking, I can take him outside and his tummy can stay clean!! It's hard enough having a baby at this stage this time of year...can you say MUD?
Congratulations Little One...you're getting SO big!

Apart from Me, You Can Do Nothing....

...This is Lukies current life verse. He's hit that wonderful stage of separation anxiety, oh what fun! He spends most of the day crawling after me, fussing for me to pick him up. I pick him and he wiggles and wants down, so I put him down and he fusses. This is one of those stages that cannot pass too quickly. On Sunday, I had to spend the entire time at church in the nursery with him because he became hysterical. That's really not normal for Luke. Up until this point, he had NO problem going to anyone else. I know this is a normal stage, and most babies go through it...I'm just hoping it's a quick one. He's been pretty text-book from the get go, so I'm sure it won't last too long. He still has NO teeth. I'm sure getting some teeth in to relieve the pain in his mouth would do a lot to help this stage to pass quickly too. Poor guy. He's going through another stage that also cannot pass quickly enough--gagging himself. I remember one of the girls doing that when they were his age (man, do I wish I had a blog back then...it would be so fun to go back and compare notes). It's such an annoying thing though...It's pretty much exclusively when he's in his high chair. I don't know if he gets bored or what, but he'll stick his finger or his whole hand down his throat and gag...and some times throw up. Fun, Fun, Fun!! :)
It's interesting this time around though with these different stages. It's like every time one comes along, I think, "Oh yeah, I remember this..." and WHAM, it's GONE! The stages seemed to last so much longer with the girls...I guess I wasn't so incredibly busy with them...not that I wasn't busy, but I'm definitely busier this time around. It's a good thing these stages pass quickly...it preserves my sanity a bit more that way. Luke is now an expert and pulling up on just about anything, sitting on his knees, getting back to sitting on his bottom and squatting down from standing to start crawling again. He's such a big boy!!

My Toothless Wonder....

...no, I'm not talking about Luke! Savannah has lost another tooth!! 2 down, 18 to go! This one has been loose for a while (the one under the first tooth she lost is coming in nicely and has knocked another one a bit loose) and yesterday she got it in her head that it was coming out. She pulled and pulled and VOILA, there it was. The Tooth Fairy brought her another dollar...and we have plans to go shopping today. She wants a harmonica.

Why am I online??

I wonder this all too often. It's too late, Jeremy went to bed early tonight because he's not feeling well...I'm not feeling my best either, but someone has to stay up to take Savannah potty around 10:30...so here I am. I just went through the most recent photos I've taken and wanted to post a couple. I realized what a lousy job I'm doing of taking photos and videos lately though. Mental note: take more PICTURES!!!

Luke had his first tummy bug on Friday night. Poor guy, it was rather sad. He threw up many times and all that fun stuff...and he's still not back to normal, although the past 2 days he's been MUCH better. He's getting back to his curious self again. This morning I was doing chores around the house and I put him in the bedroom with Savannah to play. He kept getting into her stereo and pushing buttons while she was listening to Adventures in Odyssey, so she took him and put him in the toy box!!! Hahahaha. Don't get me wrong, there was no ill will there...she just wanted him contained. She made him a little bed and put a toy in there for him and he was happy as can be. I walked in and didn't see him so I said, "Where's Luke" and then I saw him peeking through the slats of the toy box (yes, she had the lid closed! Don't worry, it's a modern toy box, very safe!) I tried to get a picture, but when he saw me, he got fussy. Darn! It was so cute!
Anyway, that's all I've got to say for now...I need a shower and bed!!

An Update for the Sake of Updating....

Today started beautifully. I was up during the night with Luke, but once he went back to sleep, I slept very well, especially considering it was trash day (the trucks are SO noisy and we've got a big window facing the street in our room and it lets a LOT of the noise in). I was actually the first one up this morning, that's always a good feeling!! When I got up, I heard my phone ringing...thinking it was my dad, but hoping it was my friend, Liza, I listened to the message. It was indeed Liza's husband, Matt, letting me know that Liza is in the hospital, FINALLY getting ready to give birth to her 4th child. You see, she was due on the 28th of January, so it's about time!! Not to mention the fact that she has 3 boys and doesn't know the sex of this one...I'm on pins and needles. I told Savannah that we needed to pray for a good labor and delivery for her...and Savannah says, "Yeah, and that it's a girl!". Oh how I hope, but God knows what their family needs most...so we trust His plan is the best...not to mention that we can't argue with him anyway!!
I'm currently doing a Bible study on the Fruit of the Spirit and the topic I'm on is Love, it just dawned on me (I know, I'm a bit slow) that that's what our theme for school should be!! So today we'll be studying all about Love and what the Bible says about it. How fun!! And of course we'll have to do some Valentines crafts, those are always good.
Last week we were up at my parents house and got to enjoy some BEAUTIFUL snow! We went sledding and the whole bit. It was so fun. I'll post pictures of that soon, I didn't get any and I have to wait for my dad to get back from New Jersey to get a hold of his pictures.
Luke is working on his teeth still. They should be in soon, I hope. It'll be so cute to see his little smile with teeth! He's still so busy pulling himself up on everything. He can now pull to standing on many things, it's so cute because he's so proud of himself, but then he can't figure out how to get back down and he gets so frustrated. He's been a bit fussier lately than usual--of course if I had teeth coming in, I'm sure I'd be pretty fussy too! But he's still a very sweet, happy baby. Just a little joy!
Speaking of which, I need to mention that Abby now knows the books of the New Testament flawlessly as well! Praise God, how cool is that?? I'm going to make a little video clip of each of them and post it online so all of my readers can see it. It's amazing how much children can learn!
So that's it for now. I've got a busy day ahead of me! May the Lord bless you TREMENDOUSLY today!
